Holy Family Academy VZC is the first and only Catholic School in Van Zandt County. The school opened its doors on the Feast day of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15, 2023. Our school has no higher calling than to serve as reliable partners to parents, nurturing and guiding children to Christ while forming the whole child in a manner fitting to God’s image bearers.

The instructional program develops excitement for learning, effective study habits, and works toward each student’s formation in the human, intellectual, spiritual, and missionary domains.

Holy Family Academy is a qualified 501(c)3 nonprofit. All donations & gifts are tax deductible.
The Academy is an independent Catholic school, not a parish-based school. The Academy does not receive financial support from the Catholic Church.

Holy Family Academy of Van Zandt County is a Christ-centered environment dedicated to the education of the whole person through formation in faith, service, leadership, and academic excellence.

Holy Family Academy has formed relationships with several other ministries and charitable organizations in the Van Zandt County area. Our students and school family participate in monthly food, clothing and/or toy drives in service of our neighbors throughout the county.

A seven-member Board of Directors determines school policy and oversees the operation of the Academy. All directors are Catholic lay people residing in Van Zandt County.
The pastor of St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton is currently the spiritual advisor to the Board.

The Bylaws embody the vision and prayerful reflection of the Directors, define management structure, and specify policies to guide operation of Holy Family Academy.

Provisional Accreditation by the Education Department of the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops is anticipated in May 2025.
The Education Dept. of the TCCB is a TEA approved accrediting agency.
